'KATOOMBA, BLUE MOUNTAIN'

We go out home at around 8:40am.  We go out and park the car near Lidcombe station.  From Lidcombe Station we ride train until Granville station and from Granville to Katoomba station.  It took 2 hours to get there.

When we arrived in Katoomba station, we saw first the Information Centre, you can get book or information guide for your tour and you can book here like if you want to book to Blue Mountains Explorer Bus, etc.

So, above photos is the view inside the katoomba town.  Katoomba has something to everyone like restaurants, art galleries, entertainment, cafes, shopping, antiques and collectables, walks and activities, not to mention it's being surrounded by ancient natural beauty, you can also find boutiques and all seasons clothing.

If you want to book 'Blue Mountains Explorer Bus much easier for you to travel specially if you are group of people.

But if you want to save money and you have Top-up card you can just ride a normal bus, specially when you go here sundays you can just pay minimum of AUD 2.50 anywhere you go ride a train to bus anywhere.

The seven sisters of the Gundungurra people commonly referred to as the three sisters may be viewed from ECHO POINTS.  Many bush walks start from this points, including the Three Sistrs walk and Giant Stairway.

WHY ARE THE BLUE MOUNTAINS BLUE?

"The haze which appears to surround any distant object is due to an optical phenomenon called 'Rayleigh scattering'.  This effect, first investigated theoretically by Lord Rayleigh, causes the rays of light which impinge on small particles to be scattered in various directions... Since the atmosphere is always laden with small dust particles, water droplets and the like and since even the air molecules themselves contributed to some extent to the scattering... if an observer looks at a distant object with the intervening atmosphere illuminated by sunlight, eyes will receive the blue scattered rays of sunlight to reflect the object itself.  Therefore any distant object will always appear to display some shade of BLUE."

THE LEGEND OF THE THREE SISTERS

ACCORDING TO GUNDUNGURRA DREAMING, three beautiful sisters named Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo once lived with the Gundungurra people in the Jamison Valley.

The maidens were in love with three brothers from the neighbouring nation of the Dharruk people, but marriage was forbidden by tribal law.

The brothers were warriors and decided to take the maidens by force.  Tribal war forced the Kuradjuri (clever man) of the Gundungurra people to turn the sisters into stone.  He intended to restore them after the danger has passed and the war had ended.  Unfortunately, the Kuradjuri (clever man) was killed in the battle and to this day nobody has been able to break the spell and turn the Three Sisters back to their natural form.  [This is one of a number of vrsions of the legend].

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST 'KOREAN RESTAURANT' IN STRATHFIELD

After Katoomba we ride a subway until strathfield for about 2 hours and when we arrived we go to korean restaurant.  Jeff and I decided to ate korean food for dinner today.
