SEOUL CITY TOUR: FOURTH STOP (NAMSANGOL TRADITIONAL KOREAN VILLAGE 남산골전통정월)

Jige Carrying
Jige (literally "back-carrier") is an A-shaped wooden frame traditionally used for carrying things on the back and is often regarded as one of the greatest inventions ever made by the Korean people.  The frame is typically made of two forked pine logs arranged so that the lower space between the two is wider than the upper space, crossed by three or four struts, and attached with a pair of shoulder straps.  The carrier is also typically attached with thick straw-woven pad for the carrier's comfort.  When resting on the ground, the jige is supported upright with wooden Y-shaped stick.

Namsangol (traditional korean village) is a folk villages.  This place is so interesting and perfect place to take a walk or even take a picture actually when my husband and I went here we saw couple doing wedding photo shoot.
